Staying Alive.

Art meets science. Muffy was given permission to observe heart surgery, which she will relate to her Senior Project, which has to do with human maladies.

Nativity Set Addition.

The beautiful tree is down and the Christmas decorations have been put away. Except for this tableau. I think I will just keep it up! It is very pleasing to look at. I made one addition to the scene.

Transitions.

This is my cousin Tim. We are the same age, 56, but did not know each other at all growing up. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know him as an adult. If you look closely, you can see that he is cleaning out his wallet. Very shortly, he will be leaving for an assignment of 3 years in Rome. He is a religious Brother of the Crosier order. In many ways, Tim reminds me of my father. We always have a nice visit when he comes to Minnesota.

Chickadee Feet.

Have you considered...the chickadee's feet? Why doesn't his/her feet freeze off during the winter. In fact, why don't any of the birds we see in January in Minnesota, lose their feet during during brutally cold winter days and nights? God designed the bird's feet with a unique heating system. Birds have a network of arteries that take 106 degree blood down to their feet. This close network of arteries and veins, called a "wonder net",  act as a heat exchanger never allowing the feet or the body to get dangerously cold.

...stop and consider God's wonders. Job 37:14

Catching the beam.

In between begging for food, Gracie takes a break and catches a beam. There is just enough room between the boot warmers and boots!

Nadia Alenov's Encaustic Work.

The first time I saw this type of art was at the MCAD Art Sale last year. Impossibly beautiful. As she graduated last year, I did not expect to see it again. I  was not about to leave without a piece of her work! As it happened, she was there and I was able to tell her in person how much I love her work.
